Dear members we are happy to announce the release of YJSG 1.0.14. We all know that you have waited long time for this release but we hope it was worth your time.

This version is a crossroad between further YJSG development and brings some very exciting features that you can take advantage of. Before we go in to details we would like to inform you that Yjsimplegrid.com is up and running and you can find detail documentation on how to use our Joomla Template Framework.

As you can see the list of changes is pretty long but this time you have everything you need to create the best Joomla templates. Please note that all our template demos , templates , modules, plugins, components are also updated to be compatible with Joomla 3.x. If you are getting ready for Joomla update please reinstall all our extensions before doing so.

To update to latest YJSG version , please follow the instructions in this forum thread. If you experience any issues , post in template assigned forum and we will help you as soon as possible. To test YJSG 1.0.14 go to YouGrids download section and give it a whirl.

We hope you all had beautiful and pleasant holidays. New year is fully in tact and our team has an eye candy for you. We all know that you have waited long enough so here is a YJSG

v1.0.14 preview. As you can see we added a new and shiny stylesheet to our YouGrids template and beside that here is a short list of framework improvements that you can expect:

Besides YJSG v1.0.14 work we have also finished the yjsimplegrid.com website which will be published with new framework version. As you can see the YJSG logo has also changed and we hope you like it. The YJSG website is packed with an extensive amount of helpful documentation articles that will help you customize and use our YJSG Template Framework.

What is the delay then?

As some of you know our team spent some time to help implement a new feature in the Joomla CMS. Since the wait is over, we can now include the proposed code in our templates and release them to you. Beside that, we are updating all our Joomla 2.5 demos with upgraded extensions for Joomla 3.0 so that conversion from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.0 is as painless as possible. Silviu is refining our YJCompression plugin that will help you speed up your website load time.

We hope you understand that we are on track and that you will get your new toys as soon as possible. This time we will not give any dates but we will do our best to rush things out for you. Instead of releasing templates one by one, all demos, templates and YJSG new website will be released at the same time.

Please do not be alarmed if one or two templates are released in mean time. Once the YJSG v1.0.14 is out all you would need to do is one click reinstall to update your templates to new version.

YJSG 1.0.14 release postponed

As much as we hate this we rather postpone the release than get you involved in endless bugs reporting. We are forced to postpone the release due to Joomla 3.0.2 upcoming changes.

There are about 190 open issues in Joomla! tracker and 5 of them affect us directly. We simply cannot give you YJSG 1.0.14 until those issues are fixed and our products are carefully tested.

As you have noticed before we are not fans of beta and RC releases and would rather test on our own than use you as test subjects. There for please bare with us and we will release the new version as soon as possible. If you would like to know what is new in YJSG 1.0.14 please read our previous post.

What to expect in YJSG 1.0.14

As we advised in our latest post about Joomla 3.0 , YJSG is getting big makeover and new features that will pave the road to YJSG 2.0 stable release

which is currently version RC1( not available for download ).
We are taking advantage of this upgrade to incorporate all the changes that are in Joomla 3.0 and slowly make transition to YJSG 2.0 where we will move the framework to a Joomla system plugin thus making version updates easier.

Beside the Joomla 3.0 compatibility this is what you can expect from YJSG 1.0.14:

Same template installation file can be used for Joomla 3.0 and Joomla 2.5
Twitter Bootstrap compatibility for Joomla 3.0 and 2.5 ( J25 requires JBootstrap ).
Backwards compatibility when Jbootstrap plugin is not used.
Additional menu type option to switch built in top menu to a module position.
Beside YJSG default 5 menu systems, we included Bootstrap navigations menus, navbar and nav pill.
YJCompress CSS/JS files compression system plugin for Joomla 30/25
HTML5 compatible.
HTML5 Video.js built in with support for Youtube and Vimeo.
FontAwesome font featuring 220 CSS font icons are included.
HTML5 shiv, respond.js, selectivizr.js, CSS3 PIE added for IE8 support.
Extended typography that also includes all Bootstrap components and typography.
Live logo editing within template admin.
Font increase/decrease frontend option changed to Javascript based rather than php version
Added .yjscroll Mootools Fx.SmoothScroll class that can be used on any element tag to scroll to.
LESS compiler built in with extended version to compile your CSS files as well.
Asynchronously (in the background) admin form submission via built in Ajax feature.
New YouGrids blue stylesheet with simple CSS coding practice.
Squirrel Font-Family parameter for Font Squirrel @font-face kits.

Custom.css file no longer delivered with install . It will be created if none exists.
All Mobile browser discovery with Mobile Detect php class.
Small CSS and language fixes.

As you can see we have our hands full with 1.0.14 and all these changes will also be applied to existing Joomla 2.5 templates/demos. YJSG 1.0.14 and our new template of the month should be released by
10-25-2012 10-31-2012 unless we encounter some unexpected changes which we will advise on time.
Please understand that we rather delay the release than give you untested beta versions.

YJSG V1.0.13 for Joomla 2.5 Templates

Dear members:

We wanted to let you know that a new YJSG Template Framework version for Joomla 1.6 1.7 and Joomla 2.5

Templates has been released.

This is a maintenance release that fixes a small issue with mega menu when joomla cache is set to ON. While we were applying this small bugfix, we took advantage of the opportunity and added a tweak for our users:

We've added custom CSS class to menu items that will let you remove bottom border from last item in the list.

To update your templates please follow instructions in this forum post.

YJSG Version 2.0 development

Dear members, we hope you had fun with our YJSG Joomla Template frameworkand that you like all the features that it has. Since Joomla 2.5is about to be released soon

we would like to take advantage of it and continue YJSG version 2.0 development .
Please use this forum thread to suggest any new features that you would like to see or suggest the change/removal of existing ones.

Since Joomla 1.5 end of life is very close please understand that YJSG 2.0 version templates will be compatible with Joomla 1.6 and UP only.
However we will always support all our products and if you need support for outdated template version please post in template assigned forums.

YJSG Version 1.0.11 Released

There were few small bugs that needed some fixing. We have waited for latest Joomla 1.6 version reports and issuing full update for both YJSG versions.

This update should be applied to all YJSG based templates. Free and commercial ones. Files changed will not affect your template layout. Most bugs were invisible to many of you but we must keep it clean. You can either download the update pack and simply FTP the files or reinstall the template. Full change log and update info can be fund here.

Thnx to our member basecria we have discovered small bug that is affecting all YJSimple Grid framework based templates. When user logs in and goes to logout page any side modules

if published on all pages would brake the layout.

If you have not edited the template css, please download latest template version and simply install it again. No need to uninstall the default template.

YJSG V 1.0.8 new CSS feature

Downloading and installing custom Joomla! templates was always an easy task. But editing the existing templates have always been an adventure and has forced

many Joomla lovers to hire developers to edit their templates. This mostly comes from lack of experience with new code and especially CSS.

To help you out and let you CSS away without fear that you will brake something , we added new feature to YJSG that will activate an empty CSS file after all CSS files load. You can use custom.css file to apply any template changes you might need or simply test your CSS skills.
