How do I put a Category of a page as page as part of the template.

I know to output the title you use, <?php echo $this->title ?>. Is there a way to do a similar thing but output the Pages category name?

Thanks but I need to output the pages category name on a specific part of the page; not the default that is controlled by the admin settings. As I mentioned, <?php echo $this->title ?> will output the pages title wherever you want. What I need is something like this but I need to output the pages assigned category.

not possible in joomla , either all pages or none, try controlling it per news item , see the params of the news item you are publishing
