[SOLVED] Turning Top Menu Off

Hi,

I'm wondering if it's possible to turn off the top menu and/remove it in order to replace it with another?

I tried removing:

<?php require( TEMPLATEPATH.DS."yjsgcore/yjsg_topmenu.php");/* top menu */?>

But that leads to all kinds of difficulties and I eventually had to reinstall Joomla, the template, and rebuild the entire site. Don't want to go down that road again.:d

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Turning off isn't the problem, this can be done in the template manager. But as far as replacing our menu with a 3rd party menu goes, you are on your own there together of course with the instructions of the 3rd party menu maker

But, why would you want that when this is only a week away: http://www.youjoomla.com/joomla_supp...html#post33124, see last screenshot.

Hi Maggoo,

That third party menu did not work either way. RT crap. This client's site is going live on Wednesday, but I can always replace it with the one you showed me. It does look cool and I didn't know it was about to be cut loose.

Thanks for the info. I've been looking for something exactly like that.

Cheers mate.

You can remove the menu module and replace with your own, or just hide the menu module with css and add your own module in.

I've done this with allwebmenus, works great.

Thanks redesnt, I'll wait for the new menu as Maggoo suggested and if that doesn't do the trick I'll try something different. It's been a week so I'm already a little itchy

And rightfully so JulesM. Unfortunately i must inform you that we need a little bit extra time. It's fully functional now but a few things must be ironed out first before releasing. It's btw my fault and enthousiasm to give the most positive timeframe for releasing, so apologies that it takes a bit of extra time.

Hi Maggoo,

No apologies were necessary mate.

I want to thank you first of all for your reply, and second for the great menu. I'm still busy playing with it but so far, it's everything I wanted and more.

That has been the goal everything and more, so great that it is welcomed as such. Should there be any questions please give a shout in a new thread, and i will put this one on closed and solved.
